“noise” was created during a period of personal transition - a moment of reflection, uncertainty, and reconnecting with myself.

When I first began this artwork, it was intentionally simple: a single figure positioned at the center of the canvas, surrounded by an empty background. It represented a clean slate - a moment of stillness before everything began to shift. As I continued through this period of my life, I found myself reflecting on friendships, personal priorities, financial decisions, work boundaries, and the challenge of staying authentically connected to who I am.

As the piece evolved, the empty space no longer felt representative of my reality. I began layering the background with movement, chaos, and visual noise to reflect the overwhelming number of thoughts and emotions occupying my mind. The accumulation of layers became a representation of internal dialogue - the constant processing, questioning, and searching for clarity.

The repeated question marks throughout the piece symbolize the uncertainty I was experiencing at the time. They represent feeling disconnected, questioning my direction, and trying to understand where I fit within my own life. The figure becomes surrounded by these unanswered questions, mirroring the feeling of being pulled in multiple directions while trying to find balance.

This artwork became a process of rebuilding - a reminder that even in moments of confusion, self-reflection can become a path back toward authenticity. It represents the realization that, when everything feels uncertain, the most important relationship to trust and rebuild is the one with yourself.
